OK…so much for me admiring Abq’s extended wisteria bloom with one over a stucco wall, or all the wisteria trees in the middle of people’s front gardens. That long arbor raises the wisteria bar to the stratosphere!
David, I can relate. I was driving yesterday and saw an amazing mass of wisteria in bloom along a rock ledge on the side of the highway. It was a beautiful reminder of how invasive japanese wisteria can be here in CT. I’d been thinking about that dichotomy all day and then I got this photo in my inbox and had to share it.

WOW! Our wisteria here got bitten by the recent cold snap wich followed the warm weather wich fooled the plant into growth, maybe next year.
John, WOW is right. I think the warm weather has fooled lots of pants this spring. I have a few confused ones in my garden, too.
Oh My Goodness!! just wow, what a photo. Can you imagine walking under that arbour? how delightful that would be.
Now THAT’s how wisteria should be used! (As opposed to roaming free around the countryside, choking native plants..)
Such a stunning sight, but would wreck havoc on my sensitive sinuses I’m afraid. Makes me think of taking a stroll through a painting by Claude Monet.
Exactly!
